During the 2025 edition of AnswerModules User Group in Barcelona, our CEO Patrick Vitali unveiled the latest and most ambitious release of Module Suite to date. Version 3.9 is more than just a feature update – it marks a decisive step forward in bringing AI into the heart of enterprise content management.
Why we waited, and why it matters
Originally scheduled for June, Module Suite 3.9 took an extra three months of development. This was an intentional decision: by extending the timeline, we ensured that Module Suite 3.9 would deliver not only stability but also significant AI-driven enhancements that prepare organizations for what’s next.
While Module Suite 3.8 was made fully compatible with Content Management 25.2 to guarantee stability and seamless upgrades, our R&D team focused on expanding the scope of 3.9 with capabilities that redefine what’s possible.
C.A.R.L 2.0: From assistant to autonomous developer
With version 3.9, C.A.R.L 2.0 has taken a huge leap forward. No longer just a smart assistant, it can now act as an autonomous developer.

That means it can generate the fields a form needs based on business requirements, automatically choose the most suitable widgets, configure them to match user requests, and even reconfigure them on the fly if feedback changes.
On top of that, C.A.R.L can write JavaScript and Content Script logic from scratch and deliver a complete, working form without relying on pre-built components.
Combined with its new IDE integration – context-aware auto-completion, real-time script revision, and project-specific snippet suggestions – C.A.R.L is reshaping how organizations approach solution development, reducing both time and effort while raising overall quality.
Seamless workflows with Adobe Sign
Another major highlight is the native integration with Adobe Sign, unlocking fully automated digital signature workflows. From routing and status tracking to metadata preservation and multi-party signing, organizations can now manage agreements directly within Content Management—without manual workarounds or process disruptions.
A smarter user experience in Smart View
Module Suite 3.9 also brings a redesigned Smart View experience. Task forms, panels, and submission controls have been reimagined to make complex workflows simpler, more dynamic, and more intuitive.
Documents can be viewed inline, panels adapt to context, and submissions follow smarter validation rules – making user interactions both smoother and more powerful.
Enterprise-grade AI integration
The new release not only deepens our OpenAI integration with structured outputs, bulk operations, and multimodal capabilities (from image recognition to audio transcription), but also opens the door to alternative providers like Google Gemini, giving organizations freedom of choice and cost optimization.
Security and compliance were top priorities in this design. With Azure Entra authentication, companies can integrate AI services into their existing identity frameworks, ensuring full audit trails and governance for every interaction. In practice, this means you can safely run large-scale document analysis, translate global content libraries, or even orchestrate complex workflows — all while staying within enterprise standards.
Contract Lifecycle Management: Our evolving first packaged solution
And speaking of product updates, the team has also been working hard on an updated version of our Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) application. CLM is the first packaged vertical solution we’ve built entirely in-house with Module Suite.
After the first customer implementations, we’ve already introduced improvements and refinements based on their feedback.

The result is a more mature solution that supports the end-to-end contract process: from template-driven creation, through complex approval workflows and digital signatures, all the way to activation, tracking, and secure storage.
Partnering with Fastman to deliver more value
Our CEO also highlighted the growing collaboration with Fastman, a trusted OpenText SolEx Partner with more than 18 years of experience in Content Management.
Fastman is widely recognized for its Management Suite, adopted across government and enterprise sectors to strengthen information governance and compliance.
For customers, this partnership means single-vendor accountability for complex implementations, pre-integrated solutions that reduce deployment time, and enhanced compliance capabilities (including GDPR and enterprise governance). On top of that, support is simplified through coordinated teams, ensuring a smoother experience end to end.
